The Department of Geography requires its students to complete an experiential learning experience in order to earn a bachelor’s degree in each of its majors: geography and meteorology. This experience is to required because of the benefits of gaining exposure to different learning opportunities outside the classroom. The experiences are structured experiential learning opportunities on location with a company, organization, group, or academic department. For students who double major, two separate field experiences must be completed for credit: one three-credit experience for each degree.
